Traditional Mattresses, Unrivalled Comfort
The carefully selected materials that go into our mattresses and mattress toppers are a testament to the technical marvels of nature. They are the product of a traditional process, each one slowly and painstakingly handcrafted by our skilled mattress-makers.
Superior Natural Materials
Our mattresses are composed of layers of premium natural materials, with only the best making the cut. Each material is chosen for specific properties: the pliability and absorbency of virgin sheep’s wool, the elasticity and durability of “pure tail” horsehair, the warmth of cashmere, the cool feel of linen, and so on, all working in concert to deliver unrivalled comfort.
Wool: 100% Natural Comfort
The heart and soul of our mattresses is 100% virgin “Fleur de France” wool, which is humanely collected from the best flocks of Texel sheep in France. This pliable, soft, airy wool boasts hypoallergenic, temperature-regulating and absorbent properties.
Filled with Care
The tops and sides of our mattresses are made from cotton, viscose or wool-viscose ticking. They are cut to order and assembled in our workshop before being filled. The filling is performed by hand to ensure that each material is evenly distributed across the entire surface of the mattress.
Painstaking Traditional Craftsmanship
Once the mattress is filled, the upper layer of ticking is sewn shut with a trimming stitch. The entire surface of the mattress is then tufted and handstitched on all four sides to ensure that all the materials remain securely enclosed.
